Rep. Ilhan Omar thought she would be cool and make an appearance at a concert however she ended up being utterly humiliated.
Somali singer Suldaan Seeraar’s concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday. The concert came during Somali Week, an annual event that this year marks the 62nd anniversary of independence in Somalia.
“It was an honor to welcome you to our incredible city,” the Democratic congresswoman said as she took the stage.
She did not receive a welcome reception.
Newsweek reported she was boo’d for almost an entire minute and was told to “get the f**k outta here.”
One video shared on Twitter has amassed more than a million views. The clip shows that some in the crowd chanted “Get out!” while others were heard yelling “get the f**k out of here!”
The clip also shows Omar struggling to speak over the noise, while another person on stage repeatedly tells the crowd “don’t do this.”
“Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, we don’t have all night,” Omar said at one point, as the crowd continued to boo.
It was not immediately clear exactly what prompted the crowd’s reaction, but some suggested that it was Omar’s support for abortion and LGBTQ rights.

Local critics are speaking out that Omar has lost touch with her base.
“This’s what she gets for trading her Godly, Conservative values for the sinful LGBTQIA’s & the promiscuous abortionists,” Shukri Abdirahman, a Somali refugee and military veteran who is running as a Republican to unseat Omar in Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, wrote on Twitter.
Royce White, another Republican candidate in Omar’s district said: “They’re being misrepresented by bourgeois puppets, chosen by the establishment to exploit identity politics. In other words, Ilhan Omar is a sellout and I called it months ago.”
