The disdain that Democrats hold for everyday Americans is no longer surprising, but it’s always appalling. This time, it’s Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who recently attacked members of the Teamsters union for supporting Donald Trump, calling them “uninformed.” Once again, we see a Democratic politician belittling the very people they claim to represent—the working class—simply because those Americans don’t toe the liberal line. The message from the left is clear: If you don’t agree with us, you must be ignorant.
This contempt for Trump supporters, especially from blue-collar workers like the Teamsters, is part of a broader trend among Democrats who no longer hide their elitism. For years, the Democratic Party was supposedly the party of the working class, the union workers, and the everyday American. But those days are long gone. Today, they represent a woke coastal elite that can’t stand the fact that millions of Americans still support Donald Trump, a man who has consistently championed the very workers the Democrats have abandoned.
Khanna’s comments are not just a one-off incident. They reflect a broader shift within the Democratic Party, where any dissent from the progressive agenda is dismissed as ignorance or bigotry. The same people who scream about “unity” and “tolerance” are quick to demonize anyone who doesn’t conform to their views. If you’re a blue-collar worker supporting Trump, you’re not just wrong—you’re “uninformed.”
The hypocrisy is staggering. Democrats are the first to lecture Americans about “democracy” and the importance of respecting diverse opinions. But when working-class Americans exercise their democratic right to support Trump, they’re insulted and demeaned. If you disagree with the left’s radical policies on the economy, immigration, or the Second Amendment, you’re written off as an uneducated fool. The elitist contempt that Democrats like Khanna show toward Trump supporters is precisely why so many working-class voters have flocked to the GOP in recent years. They’re tired of being talked down to by politicians who have no idea what it’s like to live in the real world.
What Khanna doesn’t understand—or refuses to acknowledge—is that Trump’s message resonates with these workers because it speaks to their real-life concerns. They see Trump fighting for American jobs, standing up to China, and pushing for energy independence. They see him cutting taxes and regulations that stifle economic growth, while Democrats push for green policies that will kill jobs and drive up energy costs. Trump’s America First agenda isn’t just a slogan—it’s a real policy that puts the interests of American workers ahead of global elites.
Contrast that with the Democratic Party’s approach, which focuses on appeasing environmental radicals, promoting open borders, and implementing massive tax hikes that hurt small businesses. The Democrats’ economic policies hurt the very people they claim to champion. Blue-collar workers aren’t stupid—they see through the empty rhetoric. They know that the Democrats are no longer their allies.
Perhaps the most ironic part of Khanna’s attack is that he represents California, a state where the working class is being crushed by liberal policies. The cost of living is through the roof, homelessness is rampant, and businesses are fleeing the state in droves. Yet Khanna and his fellow Democrats are more concerned with pushing radical climate agendas and social justice causes than actually helping the workers they claim to care about.
In reality, it’s the Democratic elite who are “uninformed” when it comes to the needs and concerns of working-class Americans. They have no idea what it’s like to struggle with rising gas prices, paychecks that don’t stretch far enough, or the fear of losing a job to overseas competition. Instead of listening to the concerns of union members and blue-collar workers, Democrats dismiss them as uninformed Trump supporters, further alienating the very people they need to win elections.
If Democrats continue to attack and insult working-class Americans, they shouldn’t be surprised when they lose more of them to Trump and the GOP. The left’s elitist contempt will only drive more voters into the arms of a Republican Party that actually respects and fights for them.
