Despicable Media Gets Stung By DeSantis After Spinning Up Fake News About Hurricane

The media has no shame.

During a press conference before hurricane Ian slammed into the Florida coast, the media was already spinning up fake news.

A reporter asked if DeSantis wanted to comment on a statement made by Biden’s FEMA director. The reporter claimed that FEMA head Deanne Criswell said she was concerned about Florida’s “lax” preparation for the storm.

The problem is that is not what she said.

FEAMA Administer Deanne Criswell said she was worried about complacency but not because DeSantis and other leaders weren’t taking the threat seriously. Criswell even added that her office has been working with DeSantis for some time.

“I do have concerns about complacency.  We’re talking about impacts in a part of Florida that hasn’t seen a major direct impact in nearly 100 years.  There’s also parts of Florida where there’s a lot of new residents that have never experienced this type of threat,” she said. “So my message to them is still: Take this very seriously.  Listen to your local officials.  And those Floridians that have been through this before, help your neighbors that may have not had to go through this.  Heeding the advice of your local officials is the most important.”

She added, “and as far as the conversation, the President directed me to contact the governor early on, before we even did the declaration; I did that.  My regional administrator is with the governor right now, making sure that we’re understanding what the needs are.  And our focus is on the current life safety needs that need to be met.”

Before the storm even hit, the media was trying to create a controversy, and DeSantis wasn’t going to put up with it. He put the reporter in their place, calling him out for not only attacking him but the credibility of FEMA.
