He might have gotten away with it but a bout of bravado online sealed Titus Knight’s fate after a daring police chase in Alabama.
According to a statement from the Florence Alabama Police Department, Knight was tearing down a country road on his white motorcycle on Jan. 10 when he was spotted by an officer.
Once police lights started blaring, Knight, officers said, immediately accelerated and hit speeds of more than 100 miles per hour as he drove through a construction zone to evade officers in pursuit.
“The Florence Police officer made a decision to terminate the pursuit due to the combination of the high speeds, amount of traffic present and overall public safety,” the department said on Facebook Thursday.
But that wasn’t the end of the story.

Detectives at the department used social media as well as footage from area traffic cameras to comb through video or photos they thought could help them identify the motorcyclist.
It didn’t take long.
“It turns out the person who eluded Florence police made a Snapchat with the caption, ‘Your Tahoe needs a tune up buddy @flopd”,” police allege.
Making things easier for police, officers said Knight’s Snapchat handle was also an inmate number previously assigned to him from a prior offense.
He now faces a single felony charge for attempting to elude police. Several traffic citations were also issued.
