A young Bangladeshi boy narrowly escaped death after getting trapped inside a shipping container for six days during a game of hide and seek.
On January 17, workers at Malaysia’s Port Klang were stunned to discover a disoriented and malnourished boy emerging from a shipping container they were unloading. Unable to communicate with the local language, the boy’s predicament initially led authorities to suspect human trafficking.

However, it soon became clear that the boy, known only as “Fahim,” had been playing hide and seek with friends in Chittagong, Bangladesh when he unwittingly chose the container as his hiding spot and became locked inside, embarking on an unintentional six-day journey to Malaysia.
Footage captured by the port workers reveals the gaunt boy’s confusion as he steps out into unfamiliar surroundings. An ambulance quickly arrives to transport him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Fahim recounted his ordeal to Malaysian investigators, explaining that he had fallen asleep in the container and awoke to find himself locked inside. Despite his cries for help, no one came to his aid, and he remained trapped for six days as the container traveled nearly 2,000 miles by sea to Port Klang.
When he finally emerged, the famished boy was in dire need of medical attention. Fortunately, he was stabilized at the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Malaysian officials have verified Fahim’s account and ruled out any involvement in human trafficking.

Efforts are currently underway to return the fortunate boy to his home country of Bangladesh.
Fahim’s survival is nothing short of miraculous, as shipping vessels can spend weeks or even months at sea, and without food or water, he would have undoubtedly perished.
