One of the biggest lies that the anti-gun lunatics in the United States will tell you is that “more guns means more violence.”
The implication there is that if everyone keeps buying guns that we will eventually turn the nation into a bunch of Yosemite Sams, running around and shooting our guns in the air just because.
It’s one of the biggest misconceptions about gun owners that many of our gun scared brethren have when it comes to us. We responsible gun owners look at our firearms like they are tools.
We like them, we will get as many as our finances will allow, but we only keep them on hand if we have to use them.
They’ll also swear up and down that more guns will lead to more violent crime, and never mention once that most of the people who commit violent crimes were violent to begin with.
It’s like George Carlin said, “you could probably beat someone to death with a copy of the New York Times.”
They never bother to think it has anything to do with mental illness and not the actual gun itself, which if you’ve been watching the news lately there’s a LOT of mental illness on the side.
That being said, the gun control lunatics are in for some pretty bad times ahead as Americans across all fifty states have rejected the anti-gun nonsense in a Florida sized way.
Some data coming from the firearms industry has revealed something absolutely amazing. Since 2020, a group of people approximately equal to the population of the great state of Florida have become first time gun owners.
Yep! In the past few years, slightly over twenty-two million people have made the decision to exercise their Second Amendment rights for the first time. As a person who grew up in northern Michigan, this warms my heart like nothing else.
I grew up in some amazing deer hunting country. The first two or three days of deer season were school holidays. If you knew someone where I grew up where there wasn’t at least one firearm in the home we tended to look at them like there was something wrong with them.
That’s twenty-two million people who have not been liking what they have been seeing out of liberals who have been trying to curb gun laws to the point where not even the police would have access to firearms.
A good deal of this did come out of the defund the police movements of the last four or five years. You had liberal lawmakers all over the country wanting to take money away from the people we chose to make the ones that we call when something bad is happening; and prevent them from having the ability to do that exact thing.
It’s no wonder enough people to fill Florida have decided to exercise their Second Amendment rights. It’s a matter of simple safety.
I have a friend that lives in rural North Carolina. I mean like really rural. Rural to the point that the road he lived on didn’t even have a name until about twenty years ago.
He is one of the twenty-two million. He’s also a liberal that I halfway tolerate. When I asked him why he suddenly decided to make the purchase, his response was simple and logical: “I live three miles from the nearest gas station and almost eight from the nearest police station. If someone breaks into my house, I’ll be dead by the time they drive past the gas station.”
The bottom line is that liberal policies across the board are making people feel less safe. Everyone has the right to feel safe.
