Friends, I don’t care if this makes me sound like I am an old man, but I love the concept of the fanny pack.
When I was a kid, I would see other kids at school wearing them almost as if they were the fad of the week. I never got into it because for some reason it felt silly.
So I never wore one as a young man. Then one day in my early thirties, I was working for a company that for a little while employed a retired professional wrestler.
Not going to say who out of respect for the person’s privacy as they are now long out of the wrestling business; but as a wrestling fan in my youth I would strike up conversations with him from time to time about things he probably didn’t get asked about all that much.
One day I asked him what was the deal with the fanny packs I saw so many wrestlers traveling around with.
He told me the idea was that you had so many things that you had to carry when you were traveling that if you didn’t have one, it would take you twenty minutes to empty out your pockets when you had to go through the metal detector.
The convenience of the fanny pack made total sense to me. I mean, stuff can fall out of your pockets, and you clip the fanny pack around you like a belt. I can’t tell you how many times I have traveled with a fanny pack since I was converted and I haven’t regretted it once.
Well, except when I started carrying in public more and wanted to be able to hold my pistol with one. I mean sure, you could probably just stuff it into one of the pouches, but then what do you do with your wallet?
It’s why I am glad in recent years there have been a good number of companies that have made fanny packs specifically designed towards those of us that are inclined to exercise our Second Amendment rights.
I have tried a good number of fanny packs and I have to say that there is one that I think is head and shoulders above everything else out there.
I’d like to spend a little time telling you about the Black Tactical Pistol Concealment Fanny Pack.
This one is made from some pretty high quality nylon which means you are going to need a team of people to be able to rip it up. As with most firearm accessories, durability is important. You don’t want your holster to fall apart because the wind blew too hard.
The holster on the inside is also keeps your postil very secure and does not allow it to move around at all. I had to run back to my truck during a rainstorm while wearing this pack with my pistol inside and I have to say it didn’t budge an inch.
The other thing is that the holster also allows a perfect draw whether you are left-handed or right handed. This might not be a big deal to some, but I am left-handed and recently gave this one to my right-handed uncle to try out and he was able to draw as easily as I did.
The Black Tactical Pistol Concealment Fanny Pack is great for those of you that are looking to stay ahead of the game when things have gone a little south.
