During a rally in Glendale, Arizona on Friday evening, former President Donald Trump promised to create a commission to investigate presidential assassination attempts should he be elected in 2024.
The declaration was delivered at the Turning Point Action rally hosted at Desert Diamond Arena, where Trump was accompanied on stage by special guest Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Trump clarified that the commission would serve as a homage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., known for his outspokenness regarding the perils encountered by political figures who dare to challenge the established order.
“After I was — can’t even believe I have to say this — nearly assassinated in Pennsylvania last month, Bobby called me to express his best wishes. He knows firsthand the risks incurred by leaders who stand up to the corrupt political establishment,” Trump stated. “And when you stand up, you bring on some trouble for yourself, but you have to do what’s right. You have to do what’s right for the country. I’ll tell you, we are both in this to do what’s right for the country.”
The link between Trump and Kennedy is significant, given that both Robert F. Kennedy, the father of JFK Jr., and former President John F. Kennedy, were both tragically assassinated.
Robert F. Kennedy was fatally shot on June 5, 1968, following his victory in the California Democratic primary.
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has openly stated his belief that the CIA played a role in his uncle’s assassination.
Trump emphasized Kennedy’s personal background and the challenges he has encountered throughout his political career.
“He lost his father and uncle in service to our country, and Bobby himself was subject to repeated threats to his safety during the course of his campaign, while being denied protection by the Harris-Biden administration,” Trump said. Notably, the Biden administration only ordered Secret Service protection for RFK Jr. after the assassination attempt on Trump, following Trump’s public demand for Kennedy’s protection.
