As everyone probably knows, one of the easier ways to get someone to believe that something is something that it isn’t by flat out lying to them.
Give you an example. When I was a young man, my grandparents would try to get me to eat liver whenever we went to their house.
They did this a time or two and I knew what it was, and I knew I didn’t like it. Then one day my grandfather prepared liver for dinner, and when I wouldn’t eat it he told me it was steak.
I had a feeling the old man was lying to me, but it was only after tasting it that my five year old brain said, “There’s no way in hell this is steak. This is liver.”
That’s the tactic that gun grabbers and liberals in general will try to play on people in order to control your lawful ownership of firearms.
Everyone knows what a public health crisis is, we’ve been through one in the past few years. Some of you might have had a public health crisis on a smaller local scale if you were given a boil water advisory for example.
That being said, that’s the new tactic that gun control groups are trying to hoist upon us; they are telling that gun violence is a public health crisis.
First off, it’s not a public health crisis; it’s criminals being criminals. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, if you outlawed all guns, and confiscated every last round of ammunition, crime would not go down one bit.
The reason why is simple, criminals despite being horrible human beings, they are quite creative. You could outlaw guns tomorrow and they would be out there committing crimes with a board with a nail in it by breakfast the next day.
In fact, over two thirds of potential voters in the upcoming election think strongly that the criminal misuse of a firearms is a criminal justice issue and not a public health one.
That hasn’t stopped the U.S. Surgeon General from declaring gun violence a public health crisis.
Look at it this way with the recent COVID pandemic of the last few years. There were ways to stop the spread of the virus, there was an inoculation developed. The government couldn’t outlaw COVID, because it’s a medical issue.
They’re trying to put gun violence on par with a medical issue. It’s ridiculous to act like you can treat something that is a non-medical issue with the same parameters that you can a medical one.
Last I checked, we have had avenues to curb people committing violent crimes. It’s called incarceration.
I mean, look at all the crimes that are committed by people driving cars. Are we going to declare driving to work a public health crisis?
I helped a family member move into a third floor apartment a few months ago. If I dropped their television off the balcony on accident and it hit someone walking their dog, and I suddenly going to declare helping family move a public health crisis?
The problem with gun grabbers is that they are trying to make an apples to apples comparison between lethal diseases and criminal behavior. The two things couldn’t be further apart from each other.
That of course, has never stopped a gun grabber from lying about guns or gun owners.
