Davis expresses skepticism that her mother’s out-of-wedlock pregnancy was the result of carelessness, instead suggesting it was the motivating factor behind her parents’ marriage.
Reagan had previously made a pact with his first wife, Jane Wyman, not to remarry before her, however, when he learned of Nancy’s pregnancy during a dinner date, he excused himself and contacted Wyman to inform her that he must break their agreement.
Davis’ memoir, “Dear Mom and Dad,” is set to be released on February 6.
Through her personal exploration, the book provides a nuanced perspective of her admiration for her father and the complexities of her relationship with her mother.

Following his divorce from Academy Award winner Jane Wyman, Nancy Davis was among the women Reagan, then a Hollywood star, was romantically involved with.
The couple had two children, Michael and Maureen, as well as a third child who passed away shortly after birth.
According to Davis’ narrative, Reagan and Wyman had previously agreed that he would not remarry before she did. Despite this agreement, Reagan pursued relationships with multiple women without any intention of entering into marriage again.
