In a compelling episode of Dr. Phil, Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of Hamas’s cofounder, made bold statements about the presence of anti-Jewish sentiment in Islamic culture.
He highlighted the widespread support for Hamas among Palestinians, describing events like October 7 as part of a “holy war” and warning of internal conflicts without Israel as a common enemy.
Yousef also criticized pro-Palestinian activists for providing cover to Hamas, suggesting they would face brutal consequences if targeted by the terror group.
Despite his initial involvement with Hamas, Yousef eventually turned against their violent methods and chose to assist Israeli intelligence covertly. His experiences and transformation are detailed in his autobiography, Son of Hamas.

In a conversation with renowned psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw on Tuesday, the oldest son of the founder of Hamas described his childhood in an environment saturated with anti-Semitic sentiments, which he linked to ideological interpretations of Islamic texts.
He clarified that these texts do not explicitly endorse hatred towards Jews.
“There’s lots of hatred in that culture against the Jewish people; it’s not a secret,” he said. “In fact, the Muslim belief system has a fundamental problem with the Jewish people.”

Sharing his personal experience, he described the Jewish people as “the most amazing, most productive, and most successful nation in the world that doesn’t harm anyone else,” while attributing Muslim hatred for Jews to ideology.
“They don’t have a reason except the ideological reason, and that is in some Islamic texts they say that Muhammad had a problem with the Jews, and Muhammad is their Prophet so they follow his footsteps,” he said. “But in reality, Muhammad did not write a word that says anything…
