In late January 2021, the Biden administration became aware of a Chinese surveillance balloon traversing across the continental United States from Alaska to the Carolinas.
A farmer in Oregon noticed a large red and white balloon hovering over his property and contacted local law enforcement. After further investigation, it was determined that the balloon had been sent from China with high-tech cameras attached to it.
The incident raised questions about whether such activities violate international laws regarding surveillance and spying. It also served as a reminder of how digital technology is increasingly being used for espionage purposes by foreign actors.
The US government has long warned about the potential for these types of activities, but this episode appears to be one of the first instances where actual evidence has been found on US soil.
The real purpose behind the mission remained unclear but there was some speculation that China may have been attempting to monitor military installations or other sensitive sites in Oregon.
If true, this would obviously be highly concerning for US officials who are already wary of Beijing’s growing influence around the world.
A newspaper photographer first spotted it over Montana, and despite knowledge of its presence in US airspace, Joe Biden and Mark Milley chose to stand down.
The balloon crossed nuclear silos and military installations with full approval from President Biden before being shot down over the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of the Carolinas.
The Pentagon reported that the spy balloon was 200 feet tall and weighed thousands of pounds, with explosives set to self-detonate.
The Biden Administration had knowledge of the balloon, yet chose to keep it hidden from the public.
Moreover, they failed to alert the Gang of Eight Congressional leaders of this security breach by China.
Retired General Mark Milley was aware of the Chinese balloon, however he adhered to the direction of the Biden regime and withheld information from the public.
This was not his only instance of deception; he also knew that the surveillance balloon was collecting data as it traveled across the continental United States, yet this detail remained undisclosed to American citizens.
