Justin Timberlake is facing backlash after canceling his Newark, New Jersey, show just 30 minutes before the doors were set to open.

On Tuesday, the “Selfish” singer shared the news on social media, citing an undisclosed “injury” as the reason for postponing the concert.
“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya’ll deserve,” Timberlake wrote with a broken heart emoji.
“Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always,” he added.
Fans quickly reacted in the comments, many expressing frustration and disappointment.
“R U KIDDING. 30 minutes before doors!?” one fan angrily posted.
“Everyone going is 30+… we have full-time jobs, kids, families, etc. We had to mentally prepare to stay up late, find childcare and pet sitters, take off of work to travel in,” another vented. “2 hours before showtime is unacceptable. And that’s IF you found out right away.”
A representative for Timberlake did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
The cancellation comes just weeks after Timberlake pleaded guilty to “driving while ability impaired” in New York. He was sentenced to 25-40 hours of community service.
Timberlake reached a plea agreement and admitted guilt to the lesser offense. A source revealed he faced a $300-$500 fine and a 90-day license suspension.
After the hearing, Timberlake made a public apology. He also gave a PSA about drunk driving, as required by the plea deal.
“I try to hold myself to a very high standard. This was not that. I could have made a different decision, but I’ve had time to reflect,” Timberlake said.
He urged others not to drive after even one drink, adding, “There are so many alternatives. Call a friend. Take an Uber.”
Timberlake continued, “This is a mistake I made, but I hope others can learn from it. I know I have.”
He also thanked the Sag Harbor community and law enforcement for their involvement in his case.
When Timberlake was pulled over on June 18, he performed poorly on sobriety tests, according to police reports.
Officers noted his “bloodshot and glossy” eyes, “strong odor of alcohol,” and “slurred speech” in the complaint.
Timberlake addressed the arrest during his Chicago concert days later, telling fans, “It’s been a tough week. I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back.”
