One expecting mom and two of her helpers, including her husband, are trending online after they had quite the experience walking into a Florida birthing center.
Susan Anderson was in labor and was rushed to Natural Birth Works in Coral Springs. But seems like, her baby Julia didn’t want to wait anymore to come into the world. And this led Susan to deliver her baby in the parking lot of the medical center.
Surveillance footage from the Ring shows her husband and two police officials watching the whole incident. The newborn slipped through one of the legs in her mom’s shorts. And she was deftly caught by midwife Sandra Lovaina.
Susan told that while she was on the way to the hospital she told her husband that she needed to push right away. And she had an intuition that she won’t be able to make it to the building.
However, Susan also gave birth to her first daughter at the same medical center. And this time, she wanted to deliver her baby through water birth.
In the shocking footage, Anderson’s husband grips her arm as two police officers stand helplessly aside as the newborn baby slips out from between the pregnant woman’s legs.
While the cops were present, it was a hero midwife, Sandra Lovaina, who saved the day. She reached forward and grabbed the baby before the little one fell to the pavement and smashed her head on it.
The police officers almost get involved in the incident. Thankfully, they listen to Sandra when she tells them to keep their distance because Anderson was in the middle of childbirth and needed a professional to help.
“It’s OK, it’s OK, I’m a midwife, she’s going to have a baby,” Lovaina said. The cops respond with laughter as they enjoy Anderson’s terrifying predicament.
“Multitasking by catching a baby and letting them know we were all good was quite the experience!” Lovaina explained. “One of the most exciting births of 2020 […] one we won’t forget!”The new mom spoke with Local10 following her quick birth and said she didn’t think she wasn’t going to make it in but knew the baby was coming quickly.
“During the car ride to the birth center, I turned to my husband, and I was like, ‘I need to push!'” she recalled. “I didn’t think I wouldn’t make it into the building […] by the time we got to the first step, the head was coming.”
Her newborn is the second child she has welcome with her husband at the Natural Birth Works. “Mom and baby are doing amazing, and we can all laugh at how awesome this birth was. Especially because the cops looked pretty shell shocked!” Lovaina said.
