A third memo was released by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) contains more information about the Biden family finances, and includes screen shots of bank records showing Hunter Biden and his business associates received hundreds of millions from Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company, and from oligarchs in Russia and Kazakhstan.
In a press release accompanying the memo, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability stressed that these transactions occurred while Joe Biden served as vice president:
“During Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Hunter Biden sold him as ‘the brand’ to reap millions from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. It appears no real services were provided other than access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself. And Hunter Biden seems to have delivered. This is made clear by meals at Café Milano where then-Vice President Joe Biden dined with oligarchs from around the world who had sent money to his son,” said Chairman Comer. “It’s clear Joe Biden knew about his son’s business dealings and allowed himself to be ‘the brand’ sold to enrich the Biden family while he was Vice President of the United States. The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money trail and obtain witness testimony to determine whether foreign actors targeted the Bidens, President Biden is compromised or corrupt, and our national security is threatened.”
Previous memos tied members of the Biden family to Chinese and Romanian entities, according to Fox News, which also noted the memo contains financial information pertaining to Hunter Biden’s firms Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC; Rosemont Seneca Thornton, LLC; and Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC.
Among the financial transactions reported are $3.5 million sent to Rosemont Seneca Thornton by “Baturina, the widow of former Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov.” Then, $2,752,711 was transferred to Rosemont Seneca Bohai, which Hunter co-owned with former business associate Devon Archer.
Last week Archer testified before Congress about the extent of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with foreign entities, describing the Biden family “brand” as a key selling point for the business partners. He added that Burisma would likely have gone out of business much earlier without the Biden “brand” holding back legal problems.
