In response to a question regarding his son Hunter Biden’s guilty plea to tax and firearms charges, President Biden stated that he is “very proud” of him.
Tuesday saw Vice President Biden stay in California to speak in San Francisco about technology and the perils of artificial intelligence. A reporter who was covering the occasion questioned the president about if he had spoken to his son since it was revealed that he will be pleading guilty to numerous tax and firearms offenses.
Biden smirked and replied, “I’m very proud of my son.
President Biden has repeatedly stated that he is “proud” of his son and claimed he has done “nothing wrong.”
“My son has done nothing wrong,” Biden said last month when asked about Hunter’s legal troubles by MSNBC’s Stephanie Rhule. “I trust him. I have faith in him, and it impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him,” the president declared.
The lenient plea agreement that would allow Hunter to admit guilt to two tax misdemeanors and a firearms charge that is nearly always categorized as a felony and ultimately escape prison time has been attacked by elected Republicans and a number of legal experts.
The accord was referred to as a “sweetheart deal” by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who also warned that the House GOP will continue to look into an alleged criminal bribery scheme involving the Biden family.
After the FBI withheld a vital FD-1023 form for weeks, several elected Republicans have accused the DOJ and federal law enforcement agencies of “stonewalling” the probe into the conspiracy. After James Comer (R–KY), the chair of the House Oversight Committee, filed a petition to declare FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress, the action was later withdrawn when the FBI complied with the House subpoena.
Republicans claimed that the FBI redacted a section of the paper that mentioned 17 audio recordings between Joe and Hunter Biden and a foreign individual.
Thanks to emails found on his infamous laptop, Hunter Biden has also been charged with multiple additional offenses, including paying “tens of thousands” of cash for sex-trafficked prostitutes.
