Cops in Florida arrested a 30-year-old man for aggravated stalking after he allegedly followed a TikTok star from California to the Sunshine State and showed up uninvited at her door.

The victim, whose name is redacted from the probable cause arrest affidavit, told Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies Ky Van Cai had been stalking her for months. She called cops around 10:40 p.m. on May 23 after Cai was at her front door “ringing the doorbell continually for two minutes,” the affidavit said. A deputy arrived at the home to find Cai walking down the porch steps.

Cai reportedly said he wanted to greet the woman and would only say he had a “personal” relationship with her. Cai also allegedly told the deputy he was in the Army when he came across the woman’s TikTok account with 1.5 million followers.

“He began to have visions about her and believed they were soulmates,” the affidavit said. “He even went AWOL from the Army to find her before being discharged from the Army.”

Cai went on to say he had “visions” of the victim’s location and said there were “metaphysical things” that were connecting him to her, according to the affidavit. He also allegedly believed the woman was “directing her social media posts toward him.” Cai also knew the victim’s first and last name even though she only uses her first name on social media, deputies noted. He was in the Army in North Carolina and his driver’s license says he’s from Seattle, but he has no ties to California or Florida, deputies said.

The victim told detectives Cai allegedly had been stalking her since January using various social media accounts. She said she had been taking photos of herself at Table Rock Beach in Laguna Beach, California, in late January, and days later, Cai reportedly took pictures on the same beach. Then on May 5, she took pictures at a beach on Bay Drive Park in Palm Coast, which is about a mile from her home in Florida. About five hours later, Cai showed up at the same beach, she told deputies.

Cai allegedly showed up to her home on May 6 and her family called deputies who were dispatched to the home but could not find him.

Deputies noted the victim was “shaking” when she gave them her statement and it was “clear” Cai made her fear for her safety. Cops arrested Cai on a charge of aggravated stalking and took him to the Flagler County Jail where he has since posted a $1,000 bond. He has a court date scheduled for June 17.
