Tim Scott Roasts ‘The View’ Co-host For Her Racially Charged Attack on Him – The Conservative

Uncategorized

After what he deemed a racially-biased criticism regarding his relationship status, South Carolina Republican senator and potential 2024 contender Tim Scott responded strongly to Sunny Hostin and the presenters of ABC’s “The View” on Thursday.

Hostin commented that people should be wary of someone like Virginia Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, entering ‘President Scott’s’ sphere and potentially having an influence on him.

Virginia Thomas has faced scrutiny from liberal circles for her conservative advocacy, especially given her husband’s position on the Supreme Court and his role in adjudicating cases that might relate to her activism.

On “Hannity”, the show’s host Sean Hannity drew attention to the racial undertones in Hostin’s comments, highlighting that Justice Thomas, a Black individual from Savannah, is married to a White woman from the Great Plains.

“The Democratic Party and the progressive left, they are stuck in Jim Crow, 1920s and 30s,” said Scott, who comes from North Charleston, S.C.

Scott holds the distinction of being the first Black senator from the South to be elected since the Reconstruction era, making him the third in total. Post the Civil War, Mississippi chose two Black Republicans for the U.S. Senate: Blanche Bruce and Hiram Revels. In 2020, Sen. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat from Georgia, made history as the first Black Democratic senator elected from the South during this period.

Scott voiced his opinion, stating “The View” and those on the left are opposed to a “Black man who thinks for himself”, suggesting they feel one can embrace any identity in America, but not that of being both Black and conservative.

“That’s why Sunny is so radical and so disgusting with her comments. They do not want my life story to be told because it disrupts the lies of the radical left,” he said.

Earlier in the year, Whoopi Goldberg, the “View” moderator, insinuated that Scott suffers from “Clarence Thomas syndrome.” This refers to the criticism Justice Thomas has often received from liberal circles for not adhering to what they perceive as the expected judicial stance for someone of his race.

Reacting to that comment and similar remarks from the same episode, Scott conveyed to FOX News: “We have to ignore the far left by disproving their lies by our actions.”
