We are in a “negative world” where Christians are looked down upon for stating the super basic things they have believed for thousands of years.
In 2023, saying “Jesus Saves” will get Paul Blart to kick you out of the mall. Fortunately, a bystander captured the unbelievable confrontation on video.
Videos that appear to show security guards at the Mall of America (MOA) confronting a man wearing a t-shirt that says “Jesus is the only way” have gone viral on social media, sparking a debate about what it means to “turn the other cheek.”
Videos of the confrontation have appeared on YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook. It is not clear who originally posted the videos, although it is possible one source is Facebook user Kameko Rawls.
One of which has gotten over 1 million views on TikTok, a security guard tells the man that people are offended by his shirt and that he must either remove it or leave the premises.
A Facebook reel from Rawls dated Jan. 7 has the text, “They wanted him to leave because of his shirt,” and shows a confrontation between two security guards, a man and a woman, and a man wearing a shirt that says, “Jesus Saves,” on the front. The back of the shirt depicts the “coexist” symbol crossed out, along with the words, “Jesus is the only way.”
“Jesus is associated with religion, and it’s offending people,” the male security guard says at the beginning of the reel. A patch on his sleeve clearly says “Mall of America Security.”
“It’s not religion. It’s about eternal life,” the man wearing the shirt responds.
“Ok, but it’s the same thing,” says the guard. “People have been offended.”
The guard then tells the man something he apparently has already told him, which is that the man must remove his shirt or leave the mall. The man protests that he didn’t “say anything,” but the guard reiterates that removing the shirt or leaving “are your only options right now.”
You can wear an LGBT shirt, which is 100% “soliciting” for an ideology.
You can wear a BLM or a straight-up communist flag shirt, and that won’t get you banned, even though those shirts are also “soliciting” with exclusive truth claims.
You could probably even wear profanity!
But Jesus gets you banned. It’s not shocking tho. Watch the video below:
I automatically assumed this was overseas, but it’s right here in America. pic.twitter.com/Q79eUCG7xh
