There is more turmoil inside the White House.
The mass resignations inside the White House have now hit the First Lady’s office as more Democrats demand that Joe Biden not run for president in 2024. A White House official has leaked to CNN that Michael LaRosa, press secretary for the first lady Jill Biden, is jumping ship.
“For nearly three years, from the campaign to the White House, Michael has brought an encyclopedic knowledge of politics and media to my team as my spokesperson and adviser,” the first lady told CNN. “On a small team, loyalty and friendship are lifelong — we will miss Michael. However, we are excited for him to begin a new chapter in his career.”
LaRosa isn’t leaving DC he’s just getting away from the Titanic known as the Biden administration. According to reports, he’s headed to a Democrat think tank, Hamilton Place Strategies, and will be a managing director.
It’s like the administration is in denial as all their heavy hitters are starting to leave.
The announcement came one day after the Washington Post ran a piece demanding that Joe Biden declare he will not run in 2024. The Post claims that if Biden doesn’t run in 2024, it will save Democrats from getting crushed during the midterms.
From the Washington Post:
The conventional calculus argues that a president would be a fool to reveal such a plan before he has to, because it would instantly undercut his ability to get anything of real significance accomplished. But in Biden’s case the argument is exactly wrong. Here’s why the decision not to run should come promptly.
First, and most important, the midterm elections this November would become about key issues and the quality of individual House and Senate candidates rather than the merits of Biden’s presidency and whether voters feel he should run again.
The piece even warned Biden that if he didn’t announce he won’t run, the attacks against from the left will get worse:
Unless Biden announces that he is not running for reelection, this quiet campaign against him will intensify — whether it comes from people who intend to challenge Biden in the primaries in 2024 or just to flex their muscles to discourage him from running again. This is fueled by his low standing in the polls on job performance and on desirability as the party’s 2024 nominee.
The drip, drip, drip against Biden is turning into a steady flow, and if the midterms are as bad as they are projected, Biden’s administration is about to get flooded.
