A man in Florida has been arrested after police say while posing as a security guard at a luxury apartment complex, he managed to snatch cash and valuables and even snuck into one home while the resident was taking a shower.

According to a review of online court records, Abdul Woodside, also known as Abdoul Jabbar Woodside, 28, has been charged with multiple crimes in addition to burglary, including trespassing, falsely impersonating an officer during the commission of a felony, grand theft and more, including misdemeanor battery. He has been placed under multiple stay-away orders for the alleged burglaries that took place in Miami’s Wynd27 and Wynd28 apartment complexes.

According to a report from ABC Miami affiliate WPLG, residents in the buildings had been complaining long before Woodside’s arrest of a man who was lurking in the complex.

Police told the outlet that Ring doorbell video footage from one apartment at Wynd27 appeared to show Woodside going door to door and pulling handles until one would open before trying to get in.

Another resident told the outlet his wife was cooking when Woodside came in and pretended to be a security guard. Another resident said they were in their shower on April 7 when they heard someone, who police say is Woodside, come into the apartment. Later, that resident found out that their watch, valued at $600, was stolen off a table in the home. So, too, was the person’s wallet.

Other residents told police they saw Woodside in their hallways sporting an outfit that resembled generic security guard garb, but they knew their building did not have security assigned.

Court records show Woodside is due for arraignment on May 29, and he has declared indigent status. A public defender has been assigned to his case.
