Man Heroically Defends Himself Against Robbers at ATM!

When their victim in San Antonio, Texas, pulled out his own lawfully carried pistol and put an immediate end to their evil plans, two would-be robbers quickly realized they had chosen the wrong man.

Authorities in San Antonio told the media on Friday that the two males confronted a guy using an ATM at a Chase Bank outside of the downtown area at around 1 p.m. that day, according to Fox News.

When two men raced to a stop in front of the targeted ATM user, leaped out, and demanded his money, he was parked next to a drive-up machine.

The intended victim, however, was revealed to be anything but a victim as he promptly reacted to the threat by pulling his own gun.

“It was a robbery that didn’t go well for the robbers,” San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus told the media in a video statement.

The man, whose name has been withheld, fired at the attackers and killed them both.

The two dead men were both in their 20s, the chief added.

“They’re going to interview him further,” McManus said of the intended victim. “Right now, we’re looking at him as the victim of a robbery who was acting in self-defense.”

All of this serves as yet another illustration of how the Second Amendment is best applied when it is being utilized to defend a citizen against miscreants and criminals.

These many stories are hated by liberals because they contend that there is no such thing as a “good guy with a gun.” Liberals assert that everyone in possession of a firearm is a horrible guy who is wreaking havoc and killing people everywhere he goes.

But as we see story after story of people defending themselves, their families, and their property against criminals, their pleading protests against the Second Amendment are hollow.

For instance, only last week in Louisiana, a woman was defending her kids when a convicted felon who was previously engaged in a slew of illegal crimes attempted to force his way inside her house.

In another instance of a courageous woman defending her family, an Arkansas woman drew her lawfully carried gun as two assailants targeted her husband in a parking garage in Little Rock. One of the attackers was shot by the mother using her gun.

The Western Journal has written about incidents like these hundreds of times over the years, including one from 2018 in which a nice guy with a gun spotted a police officer in difficulty and hurriedly came to the aid of the cop in need in Utah.

A Florida guy defended himself against two home invaders in 2017 by using his gun.

Then, in 2022, a man was applauded for quickly putting an end to what might have resulted in a bigger loss of life when he was able to halt another man who was planning a mass murder at an Indiana mall.

The evidence is convincing. In 2019, Lawrence W. Reed of Fee.org wrote, “Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year, or 6,849 every day.” Furthermore, according to data from Dr. John Lott’s Crime Prevention Research Center, 34% of “active shooter” attacks are prevented or curbed as a result of lawful gun owners reacting to a shooting.

The man at the ATM might have been traumatized and robbed by criminals, or, if he was unarmed, he might have even murdered himself during an attack by the larger numbers he was confronting. This narrative could have easily taken a different turn.

But instead, we witness another instance of a “good guy with a gun” saving his property and defending himself against aggressors.
