Before we go any further, this is not an endorsement, we believe in healthy primaries, and may the best candidate win when the presidential Republican primary begins.
With that said, Democrats are already giving us a taste of their talking points should Florida Governor Ron DeSantis win the GOP primary in 2024.
Democrats believe that former President Trump will enter the 2024 race but hope their recent efforts will keep him out of the race. According to left-wing strategists, should the recent raid fall through, the January 6th hearings and the lawsuits they are preparing to launch should stop the former president.
In a piece published at The Hill, Democrats admit that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a big problem and worry that Biden hasn’t attacked him enough.
Actually, Biden tried to attack Florida in 2021 by politicizing the pandemic, and it blew up in his face. Since then, Biden has steered clear of the DeSantis.
“To me, DeSantis is the scarier prospect,” one Democratic strategist said. “He’s a smarter version of Trump, he’s way more strategic, and he doesn’t have a hundred lawsuits at his feet.“
“If Trump goes bust, and he very well may, he’s the main guy I’d be watching,” the strategist said of the Florida governor.
On top of that, DeSantis has already poked holes in Biden’s vaccine booster drive.
“We just saw Joe Biden test positive for COVID, right? And I’ve said we obviously wish him well on that, but you know, this is a guy that’s taken how many booster shots? I mean, seriously, [he’s] done all this stuff and gets it,” DeSantis told supporters.
Democrats are petrified of DeSantis.
“What’s inexplicable to me is, why — not just Joe Biden — but the entire Democratic establishment isn’t trying to disqualify him now in the governor’s race,” said Fernand Amandi, a Miami-based pollster and consultant whose firm helped Barack Obama’s presidential campaign win the state in 2008 and 2012.
“He’s getting an absolute free pass,” Amandi said of DeSantis. “He has no sense of shame. … He’s acting like someone who doesn’t feel accountable to anyone.”
DeSantis has made Biden look like a fool, and Trump oversaw the greatest economy this country has ever seen. There isn’t one candidate the Democrats could run -including Newsom – that could beat either person.
One thing appears to be lining up now more than even in 2016. It’s going to be the establishment vs. Trump or DeSantis.
The soon-to-be former Rep. Liz Cheney has said that she will not support Governor Ron DeSantis in 2024 if he is the nominee.
“I think that Ron DeSantis has lined himself up almost entirely with Donald Trump, and I think that’s very dangerous,” she told the New York Times.
We see all see what the Democrats are doing to former president Trump, and we shouldn’t be foolish enough to think, why wouldn’t they do the same with DeSantis?
