We are definitely living in strange times.
In Michigan, organizations backed by CAIR are working with Christians to remove explicit materials from schools, and now the co-founder of the apparel company Nike has joined forces with the RNC.
Phil Knight, 84, co-founder of Nike, has had enough of Democrat leadership in the blue state of Oregon. The corporate giant – who says he’s an “anti-Tina” person – has decided to dump millions of dollars into the campaigns of anyone running against Democrat Tina Kotek.
The move has the Democrats so concerned they sent Joe Biden over to scare Democrat voters, claiming the Republican party is evil because of Donald Trump.
From Yahoo News:
Biden, a Democrat, praised Kotek as an “articulate, tough, committed woman” and emphasized the stakes of state leadership contests.
“As long as Trump controls the Republican Party, he’s going to have incredible impact on state legislative bodies,” and state government, Biden said at a reception for Kotek.
He said the role of governors in the country was increasing exponentially and said Kotek’s race mattered well beyond Oregon.
“She’s rational. She’s smart,” he said of Kotek.
Phil Knight doesn’t agree and told the New York Times he is not confident in the policies being created by the left.
“One of the political cartoons after our legislative session had a person snorting cocaine out of a mountain of white,” Knight told the New York Times. “It said, ‘Which of these is illegal in Oregon?’ And the answer was the plastic straw.”
The left has once again made a miscalculation, Christine Drazan, the Republican candidate for governor, was not endorsed by former President Trump. She’s run as a moderate who is laser-focused on crime and homelessness (just drive through Portland), a big concern of Oregonians.
Recently, Knight donated $1 million to Drazan’s campaign, followed by another $1.5 million from the Republican Governor Association, and she currently has a 3% lead over her Democrat opponent.
