The race went from “likely” a Democrat win to now leaning Republican with a little over a month before the midterm elections.
Since the primaries ended in Oregon, we’ve kept a close eye on the governor’s race.
We reported on July 2022 that Oregon House Minority Leader Republican Christine Drazan was starting to move forward in the polls.
“Our momentum is unmistakable, Christine Drazan is ready to flip Oregon this November,” John Burke, Drazan’s communications director wrote in a statement. “Oregonians from all walks of life are stepping up and calling for change. Unlike Tina Kotek and Betsy Johnson, Christine is ready to deliver for them.”
That momentum hasn’t stopped.
As an Independent candidate and a Democrat, battle it out to fool voters into whose more moderate Drazan is holding to her principles. Another poll shows that DRazan is beginning to take the lead against both her opponents.

The poll found that 36 percent of respondents backed Drazan, who was the former minority leader of the state’s House of Representatives, while 34 percent supported Democrat Tina Kotek, the former state House Speaker.
Complicating the race is the presence of Independent candidate Betsy Johnson, a former Democrat, who garnered 19 percent support, according to the poll.
The poll also found that the people of Oregon really don’t like Kotek.
Only 38 percent of respondents viewed her favorably, and 50 percent had an unfavorable opinion about her.
