Animal cruelty refers to intentionally harming, maiming, or murdering an animal. The cruelty may be willful, such as when an animal is kicked, burned, stabbed, beaten, or shot, or it may involve neglect, such as when an animal is denied access to food, water, shelter, or critical medical care. Another form of animal cruelty is animal fighting, which involves training or coercing animals to engage in violent combat against one another at the risk of serious damage or death.
Acts of intentional cruelty are often some of the most disturbing and should be considered signs of serious psychological problems. Animal abuse in violent homes can take many forms and can occur for many reasons. In many cases, animal abuse is usually found in some owners in their homes, however, in this one incident, it was found in a Dog sitter.
As most pet owners adore and care for their animals, giving them a loving home and ensuring that they are looked after by a kind pet sitter whenever they are gone. Tragically, though, a lot of animals suffer from abuse, neglect, or mistreatment in some way.
Now, a horrific video of a dog sitter smashing a puppy to the ground at the Victorville, California, home of Bryce and Amanda Horton is going viral. When the Hortons viewed the video of their 10-week-old golden doodle Lucy being slammed to the floor that had been recorded by cameras installed in their homes, they were horrified.
The unnamed female dog sitter dumped their dog firmly and cruelly in a manner that was both cold and heartless. As the dog struggled to stand, the video gave us a sense as to the force with which the puppy was launched. She was heard whimpering as well. While doing nothing to assist the dog, the dog sitter merely stares at the puppy.
Miraculously, the dog was not seriously hurt, which gave her owner relief.
Thankfully, ever since the abuse was made public, the police are investigating the incident and may bring criminal charges against the animal abuser and the website that offered the female sitter’s services has canceled her profile.
On its website and on social media, KTLA posted the video. To persuade viewers to see the dog sitter mistreating the dog, they posted the following caption on Twitter. “Victorville dog owners were shocked when they saw a woman they had hired through pet care service Rover abusing their beloved 10-week-old puppy.”
The service is supposed to help pet owners feel relief, not the way around; as Rover should not want their dog sitters and other pet care service workers getting abusive with animals.
“I saw it on the camera live, she was still standing there, that’s when I talked to her through the camera, told her, ‘Hey, I saw what you did to the dog. You need to get your stuff and get out of this house,’” Bryce told the New York Post.
The Rover dog sitter had to leave as soon as she could after being seen on camera, and she’s just hoping she manages to get away with it. “I don’t understand. She had only been there for maybe fifteen minutes,” Bryce said.
