Ever think of buying an old Mosin as an inexpensive long-range rifle? Here’s is how it turned out for one man:
1944 Izhevsk Mosin Nagant M91/30 PU Sniper long range shooting 500, 600, 700, 800 Meters…
3.5x 1940 Progress SVT scope 1959 rebuild marked, laminate stock, Sellier & Bellot 7.62x54R 174gr HPBT Match ammunition. Shots on 700 and 800M targets are recorded continuously– no cutting. I had to cut the 500 and 600M shots because the video was over 10 minute limit. Camcorder has 50x zoom. This rifle must be the pride of Izhevsk manufacture. I am certainly proud to own and shoot it. Please enjoy. If you would like to see a close up study of this rifle please see “Mosin Nagant Sniper Range Day” video.
Note: This rifle was imported into the US as a sniper rifle and came in through Century Arms International in mid to late 1990’s. This was purchased from Ellison’s in NY, a dealer who handpicked this rifle from the importer transit case. It was one of a few PU’s in laminate stocks out of the couple hundred sniper rifles in this import batch. This is an adjusting-screws-staked-in-place, already zeroed from the armory PU sniper rifle. I have made no modifications to it. –twelveton
